Bed Taxes Promote Tourism

Palm Beach, FL    1/13/12

Palm Beach County revenues from bed taxes increased 10% in the last quarter of 2011.  Tourism Development Director Roger Amidon said that figures show that the tourism industry is recovering from the recession even though they are not in their high season yet.

The taxes are collected from short term rentals, hotels and campgrounds, and are used to market the county as a destination and support economic development in the area.
