Help Collect Data on Vacation Rental Regulation by Cities, Counties

The authors of this blog are cataloging all of the various ways that cities, counties and states regulate (or ban) short term rental activity -- in the US and in Canada.

We are an all volunteer effort and we need Your help. We are looking for web site addresses that link to

  • text of local laws & ordinances,
  • VR application forms,
  • License & Permit forms,
  • inspection forms,
  • Tax compliance forms
  • Legal opinions related to VR regulation.
  • Copies of court findings.
  • Guest placards and instruction formats.
  • or anything else related to VRs.
We are also looking for PDF copies of such items, even if you don't know where they came from.

If you have any of these types of materials, or have questions about the project, please email or call the blog author.

  1. For this summer, my family and I decided to rent a house. We rented a Cape Cod rental. It was a fantastic choice. There many things for everyone to do.

  2. Thanks for posting! I was checking out this topic because my family and I were thinking of renting this coming summer for vacation and we don't want to pick somewhere where you can't rent. We were thinking of checking out Gatlinburg vacation homes. We can't wait!
